Foam and floss: choose particle capture without choking the filter

Mechanical media is a controlled obstruction. Smaller effective openings capture smaller particles while resistance rises sooner.

Pore size changes in use

Compression closes openings; poor fit lets water bypass edges. A graded coarse-to-fine sequence spreads solids through depth instead of building one dense skin.
